A multi-century old mill in the heart of a protected area

The Lalheue watermill is situated in the heart of the Natura 2000 area. The natural grassland contains great ecological wealth.

 

This site is also classified as an area of special protection for birds under the Birds Directive, because it is here that several remarkable species, such as the corn crake, come to breed.

 

The aquatic environments such as ponds and oxbow lakes also contain vegetation that has great heritage value and is home to many species of butterflies, dragonflies and amphibians. There is a rich diversity of fauna and flora.
